Generation of High-Order Vortex States From Two-Mode Squeezed States

We report a scheme for generation of high-order vortex states using two-mode photon-number squeezed states, generated via the non-linear process Spontaneous Parametric Down Conversion. By applying parametric rotation in quadrature space $(X,Y)$, $\phi$ converter, Gaussian profile input state can be mapped into superposition Laguerre-Gauss modes with $N$ vortices or singularities, an containing photons, thus mapping fluctuations to interference effects space. Our has potential improve measurement sensitivity beyond Standard Quantum Limit (SQL $\propto \sqrt{N}$), by exploiting advantages optical vortices, such as ease creation and detection, high dimensionality topological properties, applications requiring reduced uncertainty, quantum cryptography, metrology sensing.
